How does it work?
- Visitors receive a prepaid contactless smartcard from event organisers to purchase items during the event
- The smartcard also contains credentials to grant access to the event and specific areas
- To pay, visitors tap their smartcard on a vendor’s OCAPI payment terminal
- The transaction is fast, secure and offline
- Visitors keep track of their spending and remaining balance using the OCAPI companion app
- Visitors can top up their balance or purchase additional prepaid smartcards during the event from organisers
- Transactions are securely uploaded when a network connection is available; once verified by the organisers, vendors are paid
- Organisers and vendors can access key information in near real-time, facilitating fast and impactful business decisions
- All data is stored securely and can be accessed post-event for advanced analysis; organisers and vendors can use this insight to improve their marketing strategies for future events
Technical Parameters
- No infrastructure requirement
- No hardware installation
- Contactless pre-paid smartcards (MIFARE) storing an encrypted purse, list of transactions and event credentials
- FAMOCO FX100/200 contactless terminals running the OCAPI Android vendor app to validate tickets and access and accept contactless payments
- A valid and active OCAPI account is required to launch the terminal apps
- All contactless transactions (ticketing and payments) work offline
- A transaction takes less than 2 seconds
- Each transaction is stored on the cards, the terminals and the server in order to allow full reconciliation and prevent data loss
- All data is stored securely in our cloud-based system
- Wide range of contactless smartcards form factors available: smartcards, wristbands, bracelets, watches
